"I ordered these Mediven Thigh High 20-30 stockings as replacements for some very old ones that wore out that were purchased elsewhere. These replacements seem to be high quality like the originals. These replacements differ in that they are the "no silicone" version, which I guess refers to the gripping border at the top of the stocking. Because these new ones don't have that gripping border, they slide down more easily and would need a garter if I walked around with them. For my use, I am at home mostly sitting, so I think I prefer these "no silicone" stockings because they let the tightness taper off more gently at the top of the thigh, which I think helps circulate lymph better and may be better for reducing swelling of the leg. I think a garter really is needed for any stocking, silicone or not, if you are active when wearing them, unless they are waist-high models. I wish they weren't so expensive, but I'm glad to find them available at a reasonable price at BrightLife. The delivery was reasonably timely, I wasn't in a big hurry."
