Allegro brand - thigh-high compression stockings for men
If you have problems above the knee, like varicose veins, poor circulation, swelling (edema) or have had a knee replaced, you will need to wear thigh high compression stockings. Compression stockings need to cover the problem area to be effective.
Allegro is an excellent option. Our thigh highs provide the same graduated compression as the more famous brands at less than half the price. The fabric of both our surgical weight and microfiber under pants, will look like a regular stocking.
A note for men: if you have very hairy upper thighs, the silicone bands can either be very uncomfortable or won't hold-up the stocking. Trimming the hair is one option. Thigh highs with a silicone dot band, instead of strips of silicone, are also a little more hair friendly. Our Allegro Microfiber thigh highs have silicone dots. The surgical weight have strips of silicone on the band. Other options are wearing chap style thigh highs that have a waist belt, or going with pantyhose. We have a lot of male customers that wear pantyhose and find them very comfortable. And don't be afraid to try the sheers in hot weather. They are cooler, really comfortable, and under a pair of pants no one will know.
When donning a thigh high, the band should be placed one to two finger widths below the crease of your buttocks. This is also where you should measure the circumference of your thigh. If you're really tall, the band will fall a little lower on your leg, and that's fine, but don't place the band on top of a varicose vein. That can be uncomfortable.
