More durable than another brand., April 13, 2014 By Anonymous
I have 2 pairs of these and recently tried a different brand because I wanted something with thinner fabric, but not sheer, for hot days. (I don't know if I'm allowed to say which other brand/model I got.) The stockings from this other brand got runs in them very quickly, even though I always wear them with socks, have short fingernails, and treat them gently. My Sigvaris cotton stockings have never gotten runs in them. Given how expensive these items are, I think it's worth getting the more durable ones.

I like the Sigvaris brand for vascular stockings. The 30-40 compression level gives my leg extra support for lifting heaver weights.

Wearing the sigvaris cotton support-hose have really helped ease the discomfort of varicose veins. The cotton lining on the inside of the support-hose helps prevent irritation of the skin. Also the open toe prevents the foot from feeling restricted. Finally I lift weights and the 30-40 compression is sufficient compression when doing this form of exercise.
