The Mediven Big Donning Butler has a 6 inch opening and is designed to accommodate large legs and wide calf stockings.
Stretch the stocking over the central metal frame almost to the heel. Make sure the heel of the stocking is toward the back of the butler pointing towards you. From a secure sitting position step into the stocking until your foot is on the floor then gently pull the butler up by the handles. Don't over stretch the stocking. Remove the butler and pull the stocking up your leg with your hands and into position.

It took a few attempts but once you get the socks positioned correctly, it's a real time saver and a relatively easy activity.
Maybe I need more practice...., October 4, 2015 By Diane (Cortland, OH)
I prefer putting my compression socks on without the butler (I'm not very coordinated yet using it). I find the initial "placing the foot into the sock" the hardest....but perhaps with more practice I'll get the knack of it.
Problem using, March 2, 2015 By June Kirk (ST JOHNS, AZ)
The product doesn't allow my husband to pull the sock on as it shows in the video. It takes two of us to use it. It isn't comfortable to use and the handles aren't long enough for him to get a hold of. My husbands calves around are 27" and when he tries to pull up on the device it cuts into his leg, it's not made for a person that has that large of calve. This can sometimes cause the socks to rip through and make the socks useless. I recommendation is to find or for them to make something more suited for larger calves or make 4XXL socks or even a 5XXL for that matter.

The donning butler is a lifesaver for me. And a BIG time saver. Now I actually wear my compression stockings. Wish I knew about this 3 years ago.

For the first time in many years I am able to put my compression socks on by myself. I highly recommend this butler.

I would not be able to put these socks on without the use of this butler. I am so glad I ordered it.
Fantastic Item, August 23, 2014 By Anonymous (Johnstown, PA)
I recently purchased the Mediven Big Donning Butler to help me with my Jobst Compression Nylons since I just had recent foot surgery. The Butler is just what I needed to help get my nylons on in the morning before school. I am so glad that your product was available to me.
What an invention, absolutely WONDERFUL, April 2, 2014 By Anonymous (Emmett, ID)
At the Wound Center, the Physical Therapist had us put on one foot the Compression Stockings we got from you and then she brought out the BUTLER and asked if we'd like to try it. Wow, we won't struggle w/ compression stocking AGAIN. Especially if you have on burn cream and don't want to mess it up, the butler lets the stocking just roll on right over the cream - It's a definite WOW!
