Meet The "Samba" our best-selling Italian cotton sock in a 20-25mmHg compression. The ultra soft Italian cotton sock is lightly ribbed relatively thin and can be worn as either a casual or dress sock. There is a 1.25" non-restrictive top band to keep socks from sliding down, plus a reinforced toe and heel for durability.
This stocking provides 20-25mmHg of gradient compression to help improve blood flow prevent minor to moderate ankle leg and foot swelling and reduce the discomfort caused by minor to moderate varicose or spider veins. Ideal for wearing on long flights or automobile trips and for people who spend time on their feet. Made from 63% cotton, 27% nylon, and 10% spandex in Italy.

I have bought Allegro synthetic compression socks for years and was quite satisfied. I never tried the cotton socks because I did not believe cotton would stay up over the course of a day. When a friend recently purchased the Samba Cotton Socks I decided to try them too. What a surprise! I love the softness of the cotton and these socks stay in place as well as the synthetic socks do. True the cotton socks are a bit more expensive but Allegro products last a long time if you take proper care of them. I wear these hose to control severe swelling and relatively intense pain in one of my legs after sextuple bypass surgery in which most of the veins in that leg were removed. I have found them to be the ideal solution to that problem at an unbelievable price. Their comfort level makes it possible for me to wear one on the offending leg near 24 hours daily with no discomfort. I highly recommend them to people I know. I liked the look and feel of the socks at first. They are well made. My problem was with the size machine and the manufactures size chart. I used the size machine to get the right size since I have a large and short calf. I also checked the allegro size chart. This sock was on my list of the right size and allegro only goes by the shoe size. They did not fit me so I had to return them for a different type. If they were a different size I would have kept them because they looked and felt like a good quality for the money. just too tight.

I've been wearing Jobst 20-30mmHg which gathered behind my knee as I have rather short legs. I read the reviews on Samba and some complained that the socks were too short so I thought I'd give them a try.It's like they are custom fit for my legs and come just below the knee but not behind the knee. They are extremely comfortable and much easier to put on and take off the the Jobst. I suffer from venous insufficiency and lymphedema and this sox effective addresses both problems.

I love these socks! My shoe size is 9-91/2 I'm 5'6" and weigh 130 lbs. According to the chart size Small might have fit but I went with the Medium and they're a great fit (probably with some room to spare which I prefer). As someone else mentioned the charcoal is very dark. The navy and brown are nice dark neutral shades of those colors that should blend easily with different shades of brown and navy. I bought 4 of these - one of each color except black - because of the sale so they were an especially good value and service at brightlifedirect is terrific.
