Although I am female, I have worn seven pairs of Mediven Active Dress Socks for Men 30-40mmHg for several years. They are lasting longer than I expected (I wash them by machine in cool or cold water after one wearing, but air dry them). I lost two pairs on a trip, so I wanted to buy more. All replies to my many emails were extremely helpful. I was on the edge in terms of length so, this time, I bought the Petite. For me, Petite is quite a bit more comfortable and still gives the support I need for my fairly severe lymphedema. Because I wanted more "elegance," I tried one pair of the Mediven Elegance in the same size, as the chart indicates that the sizing is the same--not so, at least for me. The Elegance was hard to get on and and dreadfully difficult to remove. I very much doubt I could wear the same size without pain. I report this for the benefit of other women who are considering purchasing Elegance. I decided not to try to discover the correct size for Elegance, but to exchange the socks for another pair of Active. BrightLife did the exchange immediately, did not charge shipping, and returned the couple of dollar difference in price. What a great company!.
