These socks are similar to the Sigvaris 182 socks in that they have a cushioned sole, heel and toe. They are made primarily from polyester instead of cotton though. I find them more comfortable than the Sigvaris socks. They are easier to don/doff then any compression sock I have ever used. When I hand wash them I don't find clumps of fiber in the water like when I wash the Sigvaris socks. They have very light compression at the top, less than the Sigvaris. Unfortunately they are only 15" tall in size 3, probably because of the unisex sizing. If they were an inch or two taller they would be perfect for me and I would give them 5 stars instead of 4..
